Ftorxinolon asosidagi IV avlod antibakterial preparati, bakteritsid ta'sirga ega. Keng spektrli gramijobiy va grammanfiy mikroorganizmlar, anaeroblar, kislotalarga chidamli va atipik bakteriyalarga qarshi faol. Harakat mexanizmi topoizomeraza II (DNK-giraza) va topoizomeraza IVni inhibe qilish bilan bog'liq. DNK-giraza - bakteriyalarning DNK replikatsiyasi, transkripsiyasi va ta'mirlash jarayonida ishtirok etuvchi ferment. Topoizomeraza IV - bakterial hujayra bo'linishi vaqtida xromosomal DNKni bo'lishda ishtirok etuvchi ferment. Makrolidlar, aminoglikozidlar va tetratsiklinlar bilan chatishtirilgan qarshilik yo'q. Moksifloksatsin bilan sistemali davolanishda boshqa ftorxinolonlar bilan chatishtirilgan qarshilik rivojlanishi kuzatilgan. Streptococcus mitis (penitsillin, eritromitsin, tetratsiklin va/yoki trimetoprim sezgir bo'lmagan shtammlar);
Streptococcus pneumoniae (penitsillin, eritromitsin, gentamitsin, tetratsiklin va/yoki trimetoprim sezgir bo'lmagan shtammlar);
Streptococcus viridans guruhi (penitsillin, eritromitsin, tetratsiklin va/yoki trimetoprim sezgir bo'lmagan shtammlar).
